A TALE OF TWO CHINAS
"The United States should express dissatisfaction with the status quo. Calling for peace and toeing the line on the abstract idea of "one China" is not enough. Playing the part of Taiwan's great protector will not solve the dilemma either. The United States should encourage talks between the governments of mainland China and Taiwan, among all strata of society and among opposing coalitions. And the United States should be at the forefront of the drive to gain international recognition for Taiwan." -an article exerpt from the NY Times 8.12.02
Although I do not agree with everything he says in the article, calling President Chen a CHINESE leader, I do agree with his last line; keyword: international recognition.
On another note, I wonder how long it would take me to drop from first tier to bottom tier???
